april + may

all good times must end and so i farewelled Jerome. the life of a Birch includes many goodbyes – its part of being connected to a family spread across the globe. no matter how often we say goodbye it never seems to get easier

hard goodbyes are always made a little easier with a coffee….don’t know how I would survive without my morning coffee. its the highlight of my day!

with anzac day fast approaching i thought i’d make some anzac cookies….however, they were a fail haha so crumbly…not sure what happened

Birch tradition on anzac day includes home made pies and watching Essendon vs. Collingwood….the tradition continues to live even though i’ve moved out of home.

another few outback sunsets…

the sourdough journey continues, and just like the anzac biscuits, not every baking attempt can be successful. this loaf didn’t quite have the rise i was hoping for.

as april came to an end and may begun, i started a challenge to read through the bible in a month. this includes about 45 chapters a day – either reading or listening to via audio. at times it has been overwhelming to consume so much biblical literature however, i do feel i am getting a giant overview of the bible. it will be day 24 before i crack open the new testament….

this photo was taken on day 8 of the progress already

birch sisters catch up…miss them all and wish it our catch-ups could be in person

and lastly, some colourful bougainvillea in my front garden. i love that bougainwillea grows anywhere, even in the desert.

bye for now…

Jos
